Wayne Pearson

Born in the ocean city of Plymouth long before colour television. I spent my formative years split between the idyllic Isle of Wight and tranquillity of Dartmoor.
Started cooking at a very young age, because my mother’s was so bad i had to start in self-defence.
Trained at Plymouth City College before spreading my wings and starting my career in large high end hotel on the outskirts of Bournemouth.
From there I moved to the Cotswolds working my way up the brigade at various Michelin starred establishments.
Moving back to the West Country in the early 1990's eventually taking control of my first kitchen at the tender age of 24, at the well house St. Keyne Cornwall.
Here achieving multiple awards including 3 AA rosettes, young chef of year and recognition from Michelin, but my proudest moment came in 1996 when i was elected a MasterChef of Great Britain. Moved home to Devon in 1997 taking command of the kitchens in several top quality hotels since then, achieving 2 or 3 aa rosettes in all. Including Holne chase, Ashburton, Orestone manor, Maidencombe and Mill end in Chagford.
I have also had my own public house, taught at Plymouth City College. With such experience I have an extensive and rounded knowledge of the industry.
For the past few years I have taken my ethos and used it for consultancy and private functions including numerous weddings.
I believe quality is everything and have a passion for using local ingredients.
